Meet Jodie

Jodie is a therapist, supervisor, trainer, and passionate advocate for inclusive and accessible mental health support. With over 20 years of diverse professional experience combined with her own personal journey, Jodie is deeply committed to supporting fellow clinicians and professionals through reflective supervision and intentional, values-driven training. Her work is grounded in the belief that every individual deserves to feel seen, heard, supported, and affirmed in their unique experiences.

Mainstone Consulting was founded from Jodie’s deep-rooted passion, shaped by her neurodivergence, a strong sense of justice, and an unwavering belief in human potential for change, learning, and growth. These aspects of her identity are not just embraced but fully integrated into every aspect of her work. Encouraged by colleagues to pursue training, Jodie took that leap and is immensely grateful for their support. Today, she supervises other practitioners and delivers tailored training on neurodivergence and other specialised topics. Known for being a dynamic and authentic presenter, Jodie brings both warmth and depth to every professional interaction, always focused on making a meaningful impact.

Her therapeutic approach is firmly grounded in attachment theory, trauma-informed frameworks, and person-centred values. Central to her practice are deep listening, attunement, and a respectful acknowledgment of difference. While Jodie’s experiences have shaped her understanding of healing and personal growth, she honours the uniqueness of each person’s path, meeting every individual with curiosity, compassion, and care.

Jodie firmly rejects a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy and supervision. Instead, she empowers clinicians to understand and affirm difference, helping them to develop sensitive, ethical adaptations that genuinely meet their clients’ needs.

As a parent to three remarkable neurodivergent children, Jodie often reflects on how profoundly they have shaped her personal and professional worldview. Parenting has challenged her to confront the ableism present in her own upbringing, to examine unconscious biases, and to advocate for respectful and affirming approaches to difference. She collaborates closely with other parents navigating systems that frequently fall short of supporting all children, helping families to nurture their children’s mental health and overall well-being. Her work is informed by a combination of research and lived experience, with a focus on self-worth and long-term mental health in a society that often misinterprets neurodivergence.
